Perhentian Island

The Perhentian Archipelago together with the Redang Archipelago and the islands around Pulau Tenggol are protected under the Marine Parks regulations administered by the Department of Fisheries, thereby preserving the marine environment around the area.

The Perhentian islands, which means ‘Stopover Islands’ in Malay is Terengganu’s northernmost park. It is situated about 20 km off the coast of Terengganu and consists of Pulau Perhentian Besar (‘Big Stopover’ Island) and Pulau Perhentian Kecil (‘Little Stopover’ Island) with several smaller islets to the northwest.

Perhentian Besar & Kecil is a typical tropical island set up – a virgin forest with white sandy beaches and the crystal clear water of the South China Sea. It is perfect holiday for holiday makers seeking the sun, sea & beach. With it’s brilliant coral & aquatic life, it is no surprise that scuba diving here is the best in the region.
